I rarely watch TV due to the zombie programming. Because of this distance, I know the sensation that occurs when I’ve switched from my own thoughts to programmed ones. Yes, your endocrine system is the key. They use your hormones to control your mind. In other words, I can recognize bullshit a mile away. What most people dismiss as conspiracies are most likely not.

Program Your Own Mind

For the past few years, I’ve been learning about programming advertisers use to get us to buy their products. Basically, the left brain is the conscious mind and right brain is the subconscious mind. It’s the place from where our conscious mind draws it’s energy. What the conscious mind believes, the subconscious mind acts on. People who want to control our actions distract us with repetitive messages and symbols. As I’ve studied this information, it dawned on me that we need to take more control of our own minds. Instead of allowing outside sources to program us, let’s consider programming our minds with our own thoughts, hopes, dreams, and desires. Here are some quick and easy steps to do just that.

1. Create your own mantra.

Spend some time thinking about your hopes and dreams. You can revisit your vision board, journals, or simply sit down and hear your own thoughts. What comes to mind? Jot down those words and create your own mantra. At this very moment, what comes to mind for me are the words free, spirit, love, and abundance. I can take these words and create my own mantra such as “I am a free spirit of love and abundance” or “I am free to love and I am abundant.”

2. Record yourself saying your mantra in an even, positive tone for three to thirty minutes. You can include calming, zen music in the background, if you’d like.

3. Find a quiet space.

4. Put on your headphones and play your recording. Be sure to close your eyes and breathe deeply. Feel free to repeat the recording for as long as you’re led. You can also select some sacred geometry on which to focus during this time. You can even chant your mantra out loud with or without the recording of your own voice.

5. Journal about your experience and see how your life changes over time.

6. Create more mantras and make more recordings.

What are the benefits of this practice?

  • Chanting can impact our endocrine system and impact the hormones that keep us happy.
  • Chanting stabilizes your heart rate, blood pressure, produces beneficial endorphins, and enhances the metabolic process.
  • You’re more likely to tune into the sound of your own voice, as it’s familiar.
  • You’ll learn to love the sound of your own voice, which means you’ll learn to love yourself even more.
  • If you listen while sleeping, your mantra will act as your personal lullaby.
  • You’ll have full awareness and an emotional tie to the mantra so you’ll receive it more readily.
  • You’ll program your own mind with words through familiarity and repetition. Remember, what the conscious mind believes, the subconscious mind acts upon. As you say the words consciously, you’ll begin to believe them and build new neural pathways over the limiting beliefs from your past.

My Three Day Fast

This summer, I decided to embark on a three day liquid fast to enhance my spiritual practices. While I’ve completed fasts in the past, the intention was different this time. The experience was so amazing and humbling. Words cannot explain the enlightenment I experienced through the emotional breakdowns and breakthroughs. I’d like to share just a bit of my experience with you.

The week before the fast, I consumed a raw vegan diet and performed fenugreek seed infusion enemas each evening. My goal was to curb cravings for carbs and sugar of any kind. I knew this was necessary to have a successful fasting experience. During this time, I went about my days as normal with a few exceptions. I focused more on my daily journaling practice and enhanced my meditation time by playing music that released healing sounds into all seven of my auric bodies. My goal was to align my bodies so that they could be on one accord.

Here are the beverages I consumed on the fast.

  • Purified water with trace minerals
  • Diatomaceous Earth water – Prepared each morning of the fast
  • Gorilla juice – Prepared each morning of the fast
  • Fresh vegetable juice – Prepared each morning of the fast
  • Herbal infusions with stevia – Prepared enough on the night before the first day of the fast to last for three days
  • Warm vegetable broth – Prepared enough on the first day of the fast to last for three days

What I learned about the consumption aspect of the fast is that preparation is key. Each time I wanted to gobble down some actual food, having these beverages ready to go was the key to my success with this experience. I also learned that food cravings can be satisfied with vitamin and mineral packed liquids and the need to chew can be satisfied by “chewing” the beverages prior to swallowing them. What wasn’t satisfied was my mental addictions and habits related to food. I know that’s something I’ll need to continue to work on.

I didn’t follow any particular schedule for beverage consumption. I simply keep a beverage nearby throughout the day so that I wouldn’t be ravenous and tempted to break my fast early. I also made sure that my husband was able to care for the children and the household most of the time while I was fasting. This helped decrease stress and frustration that can come about when children misbehave or you have to do housework. If he were not available or willing, I would have gladly paid a trusted relative to help me out.

I turned our bedroom into a spiritual oasis with incense, candles, crystals, yoni eggs, yoga mats, yoga DVDs, qi gong DVDs, spiritual reading material, journal, Tibetan singing bowls, frankincense resin burner, sage, feather of Ma’at, spiritual books, mandala coloring books and crayons, healing music and any other spiritual thing I could find. As I was led, I partook in my spiritual practice of choice. No agenda. No schedule. In fact, sometimes, I simply rested in my bed or in a hot bath of pink salt and essential oils.

As I went through the days, thoughts would come to me and I’d write them down. In fact, a full blown plan came to me about how to address a specific issue in my life and I was able to map it out with ease. My mind was so clear, I couldn’t believe it. I could literally hear and see angels, spirit guides, and a few things I didn’t want to see like never before.

Now that I’ve shared the amazing things that were happening, I’d like to share some strange occurrences with my body and mind. Since the liquid fast was entirely sugar free (not just refined sugar, even natural sugars, including fruit) my tongue was coated with candida thrush. I used my tongue scraper to get rid of it and did coconut oil pulls with a little tea tree and clove bud oil in the mix. The level and thickness of the thrush was like cottage cheese. It was the most digusting experience I’ve had in a long time. The enemas were beyond gross. Remember, I started them a week early so once all of the feces was out of my system, black tar and mucus started coming out. I saw parasites, worms, and all kinds of sick things. I’m a fairly clean eater so if all of that was coming out of my system, I could only imagine how this would work from someone who followed the standard American diet.

On day three of the fast, I felt a little snippy and actually had an attitude. I didn’t feel like meditating or doing anything spiritual. I knew this would happen and remembered Karyn Calabrese addressing this in one of her cleansing books, Soak Your Nuts, Cleansing with Karyn, so I took a few drops of wild oregano oil as she suggested. I added some olive leaf extract and within an hour, felt so much better. I immediately jumped right into my spiritual practices. While I didn’t experience the same things as I did on days one and two, I was able to still hear clearly in the spirit realm.

I broke the fast in the morning with some fruit juice. For the rest of the day, I consumed smoothies and salad. I continued to feel rejuvenated and thankful for all I’d learned in such a short period of time. Just imagine if I could have experienced this even longer.

I have completed several three day liquid fasts since this experience and each one brings different challenges and beautiful experiences. My next goal is to complete a ten day liquid fast. I’d like to do this one at a retreat center, with others who are doing the same thing because I believe the energy will be amazing and it will take me to higher heights of my journey.

Creating a Sacred Womb Space

As women, we take on so many responsibilities that we often forget to take some time for ourselves. There are many ways for us to physically take time for ourselves including going to the gym or fitness studio, hair salon, nail salon, or the mall. Those of us who love nature might go on a hike or  walk in the park/woods. Today, I’d like to encourage you to create a sacred space right in your own home.
