Take Me to the Muddy Water!

Water is essential to our well-being and very existence in the physical realm. In a spiritual context, water is a cleansing and healing agent. Christian converts are either baptized in or sprinkled with holy water. In the Bible, there’s a story about a “crippled man” who sat by the Pool of Bethesda each day, waiting for the angels to “trouble” the water hoping someone would move out of the way and dip him in so that he might be healed. The Islamic faith speaks of water as a symbol of Allah’s mercy and benevolence. Offering water at a Buddhist shrine shows one’s desire to cultivate virtues of calmness, clarity, and purity. So what happens when we muddy the waters? Does the power decrease? Will it still cleanse us? Does it maintain the same healing properties? Great questions, my friends. My answer – It all depends upon the agent that was added to make it muddy.

Muddy water is a blend of diatomaceous earth (DE) and water. When the white, powdery DE is added to the crystal clear water, it becomes muddy and no longer tastes pure. Don’t let the visual or the taste fool you. This muddy looking chalky tasting beverage can change your healing game. It’s not a miracle cure, yet you may want to give the muddy water a try. I’ll tell you a little more about this great ally.

diatomaceous-supplement

DE is composed of 85% silica and a few other trace minerals like calcium, magnesium, sodium, potassium, copper, zinc, iron, phosphorous, and selenium. Silica is an instrumental part of human ligaments, cartilage, and musculature. This amazing mineral is missing in our food supply these days so natural supplementation is a good idea. The most easy and affordable way to get it is to mix 1-3 tablespoons of DE with purified or distilled water and drink up.

Here are a few health benefits of muddy water.

  • Growing hair in persistent bald spots (even helps with male pattern baldness and alopecia in many cases).
  • Growing strong, healthy hair and nails.
  • Repairing muscles and bones.
  • Balancing cholesterol levels.
  • “Killing” excessive candida and some parasites in your digestive tract causing yeast infections, thrush, brain fog, inability to focus, eczema, allergies, itching, and many digestive issues to say “bye-bye.”
  • Removing heavy metals and toxins from your body with the assistance of chlorella, red clover, and/or cilantro.

Of course, eating clean is a must if you want to see optimal benefits. Otherwise, you’re just putting old wine in new wine skins. Oh yeah. Here are a few things to keep in mind.

  • Do not consume DE if you are experiencing kidney issues.
  • Only consume food grade DE.
  • Do not stand in the cloudy powdery residue in the air when you add it to the water. Once it settles, then mix it. Inhaling DE powder can be harmful to your lungs. Look at it under a microscope and see just how sharp the silica can be.
  • Start with one tablespoon to see how your body responds.
  • Stop consuming DE immediately if you experience stomach pains.
  • Drink extra water when consuming DE and be sure to eat fibrous food to prevent constipation.
  • DE alone will not get rid of every single parasite in your digestive system and bloodstream. So, consider black walnut powder, wild oregano oil, cloves, and wormwood as a companions if you’re cleansing. Different substances are required to get rid of parasites at different stages of growth.
  • DE alone will not get rid of all forms of eczema, allergies, or itching. Adding olive leaf infusions or extracts can be helpful.
  • Remember, this information is for educational purposes only and doesn’t replace the advice of a medical doctor.

I’d love to hear about your experiences with the muddy water. Feel free to sing your favorite Negro spiritual when preparing the drink. Songs like Take Me To the Water. If you’ve been to any baptism service, you have probably heard that song a million times – Take me to the water. Take me to the water. Take me to the water. To be baptized. There are so many verses. And if you have a really creative pastor, he/she might make up verses if there are a large number of people to be baptized. Watch out now! I just might make a video to show you just how well I know this song. Just kidding. I won’t torture you like that. Just have some muddy water and let me know what you experience after a week of faithful consumption. Take me to the muddy water!

Underarm Funk Be Gone!

Do you want to switch to a natural deodorant yet, you’re over powered by funky sweat? Consider an underarm cleanse.

image

  • In the shower, gently scrub your underarms with a loofah sponge.
  • Rinse well and repeat.
  • Rub iodine tincture under your arms and let it soak in until the red color disappears then wash your underarms again. This helps control bacteria and helps dissolve cysts that may have formed under your arms from years of chemical anti-perspirant and deodorant use.

I do this process almost every night due to my personal history with fibrocystic breast disease. I’m all about preveting that situation from occurring again.

Here are some additional tips.

  1. Drink G Juice daily. It will naturally deodorize your body and give you energy.
  2. Eliminate or extremely limit garlic, white onions, refined sugar, and meat from your diet. All of them increase the probability and pungency of the funky sweat.
  3. Visit Nandi’s Naturals to find a deodorant that works for you.
  4. Consider investing in chemical free underarm wipes and wearing cotton t-shirts shirts under your clothes if you’re a heavy sweater. Once you cleanse your body, your sweat will smell much better.

Eat Smart

image

Have you ever wondered why many people have an issue with focus? I’ll tell you why. They aren’t eating smart.

Due to the corporate life schedule many have adopted, people have a tendency to eat processed foods with refined sugar and flour, soy, and other chemicals posing as food. Also, most people are eating at the wrong time. So what’s the solution? It’s simple. Eat real food and stop eating at 7pm. This means you’ll have to be mindful about your meals. Eating fast food on the go will no longer be an option. You might even skip dinner or eat something light and nutritious that doesn’t take long to prepare. Curling up with that late night ice cream will no longer hold you hostage to your hormones. Drink some relaxing herbal tea instead. When you start this new way of life, your mind and body might fight you. So show them who’s in charge. Within 7 days, you’ll start feeling brand new.

I look forward to hearing your stories and how you feel once your focus is back. You can do it!

Love and light.

Klip Dagga – Better than a Massage!

klip dagga

As you all know, I’m an herbal enthusiast and when I discover something amazing, I tell the world about it. Not too long ago, I was that quintessential career woman who uncorked an amazing bottle of red wine at least twice per week. It was my way to relax after working with people all day long. Since that time, I’ve incorporated energy work into my lifestyle yet, I still missed that relaxing feeling from an amazing glass of Chianti so I decided to try Klip Dagga.

Most people smoke this lovely flower as an alternative to marijuana. I’m not into the whole smoking thing and definitely not into “getting high,” so I decided to make an infusion. Within minutes, I felt a relaxation that words can’t describe. I was mellow and chill yet quite functional. Almost how you feel after a good relaxing massage while you’re on a cleanse but even better. Many of the other herbs that bring about this effect make me want to sleep. Not this one. It was relaxing and amazing. Now, I enjoy a mason jar full whenever I want to “chill out.” I was also glad to learn about the physical benefits of this herb. It’s an antihistamine, antispasmodic, great for headaches, and so much more. I’ve found that it’s great for that meditative time, as well.

I still love my Chianti as an occasional treat. In fact, I found a great red blend called 1448 when I went to Wine and Vibe at Lindsey’s Door 7. An amazing healing experience led by the amazing Satori Seals. Maybe next time, I’ll take some Klip Dagga infusion. I bet they would all get a kick out of that. In the meantime, I’ll enjoy that treat from time to time with my hubby.

If you are a lover of the daggas, I’d love to hear about your experiences. Love and light!

Butterfly Wisdom

Butterfly Wisdom

I just love butterflies. This beautiful flying insect is the quintessential representation of freedom, intelligence, and mysticism. Whenever a see a butterfly, no matter what’s going on in my life at that moment, I smile and it’s all better.

Let’s observe the symbiotic relationship of two specific butterflies to toxic plants and predators – the Monarch and Pipevine Swallowtail. Blessed with digestive enzymes customized to their specific needs, these butterflies can consume toxic plants without getting sick or dying so that they are undesirable to those who prey upon them. The Viceroy butterfly doesn’t have this capability however it can change it’s color to match the Monarch’s to trick the predators who try to eat them. The Red-Spotted Purple butterfly has this same ability however it mimics the Pipevine Swallowtail. Isn’t nature brilliant? Who knew something so small could be so smart?

If the butterfly creator is the same as the human creator, I wonder what food we consume that attracts or detracts certain people into our lives. What energy are we emitting through our perspectives? What atmosphere are we creating in our homes and work spaces? When generational love or bondage is reflected in our auras? All of these aspects of our lives affect who comes, who goes, and who stays. I encourage you to kick back with a cup of hot, steamy, lemon balm tea and reflect on what you and these butterflies have in common.

Love and light!

Super Sleep

Super Hero Sleep

As many of you know, I believe there is power in sleep and that power goes far beyond the scientific documentation of the physical benefits.  It’s so powerful that militaries use sleep deprivation as a form of torture for prisoners of war. It’s one of the most heinous forms of torture because it’s effects can result in immune system breakdowns, heart defects, memory loss, confusion, hallucinations, inability to make decisions, psychosis, aches and pains, growth suppression, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease. As healers, we’re so quick to suggest dietary changes, herbs and other natural remedies for maladies yet we often forget about good old fashioned sleep.

What is Sleep?
According to Webster’s dictionary, sleep is a condition of body and mind such as that which typically recurs for several hours every night, in which the nervous system is relatively inactive, the eyes closed, the postural muscles relaxed, and consciousness practically suspended.

Why do we need it?
When we are asleep, our bodies use nutrients (we’ve either fed it or stimulated it to produce) to regenerate. During sleeping hours, most of the body is at total rest. The parts that aren’t are operating at a reduced capacity. With no energy going out for walking, talking, exercising, working, etc., our bodies direct all of that energy to healing.

Sleep isn’t just for healing the body. It’s also for healing the mind. While we sleep we dream. Dreams are the minds way of sorting through the thoughts and experiences of the day. Many people don’t realize they are dreaming because they haven’t trained themselves in dream recall. According to Medical News Today, the average person has 3-6 dreams per night.

Some historians have shared that the Atlantean’s never dreamed, which I find to be strange for such an advanced culture. Yet, when we plug in the fact that they practically lived in a bubble and did a great deal of metaphysical and spiritual work in their waking state, their need to dream could have been diminished. Some physicians use this to support their theory that people who have vivid dreams or participate in lucid dreams, astral traveling, or astral projection are mentally ill. As we all know, this is a gross misunderstanding of the spirit realm.

Speaking of the spirit realm, when our physical body sleeps, our astral body travels. That’s why dream work is crucial to the life of the metaphysician and spiritual healer. It’s crucial for everyone however, not all of us have elected to be time lords who master the reincarnation cycle in this lifetime. We can learn techniques to intentionally participate in our dreams versus letting our minds take us on a journey. We can put our bodies to sleep, grow our spirits to absorb higher vibrations and frequencies, and  travel throughout the universe through with our astral bodies. Those who master this process can travel to the future and the past and can work rituals and change life experiences to guide future reincarnations. Keep in mind, time only exists in this dense dimension here on earth. In the universe, all things are occurring (past, present, and future) simultaneously.

How much sleep do we need?
The average person eating the SAD (Standard American Diet) needs 8-9 hours of sleep per night. On average, most people get 4-6, so they are extremely deprived of sleep which challenges their healing experience. As you’ve probably already guessed from the Atlantean example, the more your body is healed, the less sleep you need. At the beginning of your healing journey, you’ll find yourself sleeping more. As you heal, the need for sleep decreases. As you enhance your spiritual practices and learn to quiet your mind, your need for dreaming decreases. No matter how much time you need, I encourage the following practices aligned with the circadian rhythms of the earth (since we live here).

Circadian Rhythm

  • Meditate 20 minutes or more each day.
  • Do not eat, workout, or do strenuous or deep thinking activities after 6pm.
  • Drink a cup of a relaxing herbal infusion like catnip, linden flower, skullcap, or sacred blue lotus.
  • Get to bed between 8:30-9:30 pm each night.
  • Sleep in a pitch black room.
  • Remove all electronic devices from your room or at least unplug them.
  • Make sure your bed doesn’t directly face your bedroom door.
  • Place your bed so that your head is pointing in the direction of the rising sun.
  • Cover bedroom mirrors while sleeping.
  • Practice deep breathing prior to sleeping.
  • While breathing deep, imagine your body sleeping and your astral body hovering above, connected by a silver cord.

If none of these techniques help, you may want to consider a parasite and candida detox.

Now that we understand more about the mechanics of sleep, I challenge you to make some beneficial adjustments to your sleep pattern and share how it impacts your health. By doing so, you will enhance the quality of your holistic health and have first hand experience to share with your clients.

Peace and light!

Clever Comfrey

Comfrey

The spirit of comfrey speaks to me daily as I walk by my personal plant. It says, “Sherrice. Grow wild as I grow wild. Grow strong as I grow strong. Saturate yourself with physical and spiritual nutrients, then grow, grow, grow.” I love to hear it in the ethers and I smile when it speaks. This herb will grow in the most harsh conditions and it’s strength begets powerful healing. This green earth plant has mastered the art of growth.

Used externally, comfrey is great for healing skin ailments and bone fractures. I’ve also found it to work wonders on sprains, bruises, and burns. In fact, it has been known to reduce injury related swelling.

I had the pleasure of ingesting this herb internally as part of a formula I created when I eradicated those pesky fibroids in my uterus. It stops internal bleeding and heals up those places we can’t reach. There’s amazing power in that chlorophyll filled gem. Check out my post about Uterine Fibroids to learn more.

So, let’s talk about controversial matters. The wild woman in me likes to defy all odds and dig deeper into forbidden things. I’ve heard the advice against the use of comfrey and I believe my favorite herb in the whole wide world has been the victim of bad research and bad press. I’ve used this herb internally for years and thus far haven’t experienced liver issues, as the studies claim. In fact, I’ve experienced amazing results. Of course, I only use it when I need it. I enjoy an occasional comfrey leaf infusion and get excited about the thickness of the extracts I make. DISCLAIMER – I AM NOT RECOMMENDING YOU TAKE THIS HERB INTERNALLY. That’s just what I do and it happens to work for me.

I encourage you to do some research and learn more about this clever herb that works it’s magic to speed up your healing time.

Magnificient Mugwort!

image

Mugwort is the universal herb for protection and prophecy in the dream world.  It’s a visionary herb, so it’s often used for divination and ritual practices. While it’s great for infusions, some people mix it with damiana and mullein for smoking blends. I’ve even burned it along with or in place of sage when we sit by the fire outside at night for protection and clearing. It’s a nice herb to burn for meditation practice, as well.  Magnificient mugwort also relaxes the uterus to bring on late menstural cycles. This herb is an abortifacient so don’t consume it if you’re expecting a bundle of joy.

Sexy Feet for the Fall

pedicure

There’s nothing in the world like beautiful feet. It blesses my soul when I see sistas and brothas taking care of the feet on which they stand. As the weather is changing and the crisp air hits your face when you walk outside, many of us are putting the sandals and flip flops away. You may be tempted to stop taking care of those beautiful feet you cultivated during the summer months. I’m here to tell you that foot care is forever. Your feet have served your body day in and day out. They keep you grounded and help to manifest your life’s purpose by following the direction of your mind and taking you where you need to go. Your feet hold the memories of the many places your soul has traveled through all of your lifetimes. For this reason, we want to take care of them and ensure their physical appearance is maintained. This is not just for the women. It’s for the men, too. There’s nothing worse than a beautiful woman or a handsome man with crusty feet.

Here’s a sure fire way to keep your feet smokin’ hot even during the cold months. Fill a basin full of hot water. Add one teaspoon of vitamin C powder to decrease the amount of chlorine in the water. Add 1/4 cup castor oil and a few drops of lavender essential oil. The castor oil will soften even the worst calloused feet. It soothes aching feet, heals skin infections, heals heel spurs, reduces crows feet, reduces bunions, gets rid of corns and thick callouses, and much more.

castor oil

Soak them for 20-30 minutes and then scrub off the dead skin off your feet with a pumice stone and your favorite liquid soap. The soap breaks up the thickness of the castor oil and blends with the oil to remove the dead skin.

Rinse your feet with warm water in the bathtub and dump the water from the basin in the toilet. Rub some castor oil, shea butter, and bergamot or lime essential oil on your feet to seal the moisture and put on some cotton socks. You can do this nightly after your baths and showers, too. Give the oils and butters time to soak into your feet. Then clip, shape, buff, and polish (for women) your toe nails as normal.

Practice this regimen weekly to give your feet the loving care they need even when it’s cold outside. To learn more about foot care, visit my blog post on the Ataensic Media Blog – Who’s That With Those Nasty Feet? Enjoy!

Love and wholeness unto you!
